Lead Investigator In Pistorius Case Facing Attempted Murder Charges

At London 2012, Oscar Pistorius made headlines across the world when he became the first amputee to compete in an Olympic track event. Apart from some slight unpleasantness at the Paralympic Games when he appeared to accuse a rival of an unfair advantage because his blades were longer than they should have been, 2012 was a great year for Pistorius and he seemed to be looking forward to bigger and better things. That all came crashing down around his ears when he shot and killed his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, in his own home. In a case that has shocked the world, he claims that he thought she was an intruder and was shooting in self-defence. The prosecution, on the other hand, have refuted this claim, suggesting that Pistorius wilfully murdered Reeva following an argument.
